This cold stretch led to water main breaks and a boil water advisory in Hays. Hays Water Resource Director, Jeff Crispin, said one of the lines along Vine St was a bigger one, meaning digging it up and getting a clamp done on it took some time. The system lost pressure, the city took so the extra precautions and called it in to KDHE.
